More fun things to do in Breckenridge
Breckenridge is a very popular area, even in the summer. During our visit, we walked around the town and in our little neighborhood up the hill as much as possible. We found a comfy condo to rent on Four O’Clock Road, which was pretty close to Sawmill Reservoir. It was nice after a day of exploring to come back to our condo, relax a bit, eat dinner and then go for spectacular sunset walks. We saw many wild animals during these walks, such as moose, brown bears, foxes and more.
day trip to Denver
During our week-long escape, we decided to take a day trip to Denver. As we were driving on I-70 heading towards Denver, we saw the signs for Red Rocks Amphitheater and knew that we had to stop to see this iconic place. We were so glad that we stopped as it’s truly a sight to see! I can only imagine how amazing it is to go to a concert there – it would be magically mesmerizing! It’s definitely a popular spot, but it didn’t feel overcrowded. We walked around a bit, took some photos, watched some people do a HIIT-style workout, and then returned to our car to make our way towards Denver. For more info, check out their website: RED ROCKS. This tour would be amazing!! Or this TOUR
It was lunchtime and after doing research on my favorite vegan food/travel website, Happy Cow, we opted for the famous Watercourse Foods. It did NOT disappoint – yummy! We ordered our food, took it to go and found a quiet little spot with a bistro table to eat around the corner. We got the cauliflower wings, blackened caesar wrap, classic burger and chicken strips. It was all very delicious!
And, to take back to Breckenridge, we grabbed a bunch of amazing pastries from Beet Box. Sadly, they have closed up shop.
After lunch, we took a long walk around City Park. There were many people enjoying this picturesque park on a hot summer day. It was fun to watch the everyday activities of locals while taking in the architecture and landscape of the park and pond.
After spending a couple of hours at City Park, we drove to see several murals around the city. I really wish we could have spent several more hours to see the colorful street art. For more info, check this website: DENVER MURALS
We also highly recommend going to the Denver Botanical Garden for a close view of the flora and fauna that live in Colorado.
Next time we go to Denver, we will definitely do this fun zipline tour!
This tour from Denver also seems amazing!
Or if you are into exhilarating, heart-pumping activities, this white water rafting tour would be fantastically fun!
